1. Definition

A domain restore is the process of recovering a domain name that has entered the Redemption Period after you failed to renew it during the Renewal Grace Period. The domain has been deleted from the registry but is not yet available for public registration.

All restores include a 1‑year renewal.

2. Why Is the Restore Fee So High?

• The registry charges a restoration fee, which makes up most of the cost.
• The domain has already been deleted, so extra manual handling is needed.
• The fee includes both the registry’s restoration charge and the 1‑year renewal cost.

3. Key Stages After Expiration

⑴ Renewal Grace Period

Duration (typical): 30 days

Actions to Take: Renew at regular price.

⑵ Redemption Period

Duration (typical): 30 days

Actions to Take: Restore by paying the higher restore fee.

⑶ Pending Delete

Duration (typical): 5 days

Actions to Take: No recovery – domain will be fully deleted and released to the public after this period.

NameMart sends multiple email reminders 30, 7 days before expiration, and 5 days after expiration. Keep your contact email updated to receive these alerts.

4. How to Restore a Domain at NameMart

⑴ Log into your NameMart Member Center and view domain status. Check if your domain is still in the Redemption Period.

⑵ Navigate to Tickets & Feedback

⑶ Select Ticket Type: Domain Management

   Enter Ticket Title: Domain Restore

   Enter the domain to be redeemed in the Detailed Issue Description.

Once you approve the quote ($200 per domain) and ensure that your account balance is sufficient, we will initiate the restore process. Processing usually takes 1 business day.

Important Notes:

Not all TLDs support restoration.

Restoration is not guaranteed – the registry may deny the request for various reasons.

The restore fee is non‑refundable once the restore is successful.

If your domain has entered the Pending Delete stage, it cannot be restored – you can only try to register it again after release.
